Funky Frames

Increasingly in past few years, web designers have been experimenting with simple non-traditional shapes for photos, text boxes, and images on websites. The traditional, rectangular shape of images on websites can feel predictable and uninspiring. The introduction of a variation in shapes creates a more engaging, dynamic visual experience.
The shapes can’t be so complicated that they become a distraction or take away from usability, so they are often combinations of simple shapes. This allows the users to see the images, while still drawing attention to important elements on the page. The shapes can even tie into the product or brand, such as creating frames that mirror the logo, or frames that look like file folders.
