Ten Years: Ten Tech Tools We Love
Free trivia nuggets for you. Friends, CSI: Miami, Roseanne and Hawaii Five-0 all made it ten seasons. In TV land, that’s quite the accomplishment. Now, I can get behind Friends and CSI. Ross, Rachel, and forensic evidence? Easy sell. But Roseanne? I’ll never understand. If you’re loyal to the Connor family, please send me a DM. What am I missing?
More importantly, our small but mighty shop has reached the ten year milestone. Yep, that’s us. Tegan is celebrating a decade in the industry this year. We love all things digital marketing, and to be considered a worthy competitor in this space for so long is truly an honor. In young people terms, it’s lit.
You’ve probably noticed the ten year theme by now. Just go with it. For this round, our team put together a list of TEN of our favorite tech accessories, apps and tools that help us get through the work week. Enjoy!
📣 Slack
I’m very much a verbal processor so being able to talk through things (even via instant messaging) is key for me to perform my best. Not only does Slack have a sleek UX, but being able to send a quick message instead of hopping on a call or sending another email is incredible. It also makes a pretty great platform for hosting GIF-offs!
-Laura, Account Executive and the pride of Alabama
🧨 Spark
The ability to comment under emails and share collaborative email drafts. That’s all you need to know. If you know, you know. And if you don’t know, you need to know.
-Also Laura
📓 Evernote
I keep all on the fly notes and to-do lists here. I’ve used it since day 1 with Tegan and love it. If Evernote goes down, please give me space. I’ll be in mourning.
-Morgan, Account Supervisor and making us all jealous with her home in the mountains
🐭 Logitech MX Master 3 Mouse
I switched a year ago and can’t even attempt to use a Magic Mouse anymore. It can scroll 1,000 lines a second, ideal for the Cliffs Notes version. And it’s nearly silent, ideal for insomniacs that prefer working in the moonlight. Me. I’m the insomniac.
-Ryan, UI/Brand Designer and above-average golfer
🖥️ LG 5k Monitor
Yes, it needs to be 27″. Yes, I need 5k so all my type is super sharp. Yes, it’s perfect.
–Ryan, again
📸 Droplr
Truly the best invention ever. Allows you to markup screenshots as well as type on them and sent them to coworkers or client using a short link url .I probably send 1000 screenshots a day to everyone that I work with. Makes explaining things sooo much easier!
-Jacey, Account Executive and proud dog mom
⌚ Apple Watch
While not a work-specific piece of tech, it’s allowed me to stay looped in even when I’m away from my phone and computer. Plus, it reminds me when I need to stand because I’ve spent too much time on my butt looking at my computer. Holds me accountable to brain breaks!
-Kelsey, Account Director and Peloton professional
🎧 Airpods
Not totally office tech, but I use them while I work, so it totally counts. As someone who made fun of air dodders for a solid two years, I take back everything I said. I actually bought my pair for my husband for Christmas this year and now I use them everyday. Merry Christmas, Cameron!
-Carley, Brand Communications and always down for Pictionary
🔮 Notion
Notion is my best friend. Tegan’s account holds all the Tegan-esque info you could ever want. The company calendar, employee directory, benefit deets, weird tech acronyms defined, everyone’s favorite ice cream flavor, etc. When I’m lost, confused or just bored, I check into Notion. Always a good time.
–Carley, again
🎵 Spotify
This is the answer everyone wanted to put, but didn’t. Who doesn’t log in some quality tunes during the work day? If you’re the work in silence type, then never mind. We’ll never be friends. But a shameless plug for everyone else, Tegan’s Spotify page boasts a mix for just about every mood and every season. I recommend starting with Taylor, and working your way backwards from there.
